Typing Context
When
linked to a Client Application,
Instant Text keeps track of the
Typing Context, i.e.
-
the last character you typed,
-
the last
abbreviation you typed,
-
and furthermore, even the last words you typed.
It is essential, as it is the driver for the main Instant Text
productivity features:
Typing Context Reset
There are several cases where the
Typing Context
gets reset. For example:

when you press your
Shift Space
Reset Typing Context Hotkey
-
when you type a keyboard shortcut using the
Ctrl key
-
when you type a keyboard shortcut using the
Alt key
-
when you press the
Escape
key
-
when you press one of the arrow keys:
Up,
Down,
Left,
Right
-
when you press one of the navigation keys:
Home,
End,
PageUp,
PageDown
-
when you click somewhere with your mouse
-
when you switch to another window
When the
Typing Context
is reset:
-
Instant Text forgets about everything that was typed before,
-
the
Expansion List
gets cleared,
-
and Instant Text starts to keep track of the
Typing Context
anew, from there on.
There are some cases, where you can take advantage of this
Typing Context Reset,
for example:
-
when you want to type a
Marker Key
without expanding,
-
or to avoid the capitalization of the next letter.
