Singles Glossary

A singles glossary is a set of expansions that can be produced

• by typing a one‑letter abbreviation,
• followed by an expansion trigger key.

Singles Glossary Entry

A singles glossary entry consists of:

• a one‑letter short form,
• an expansion,
• and an optional display form.

A singles glossary can have entries with duplicate short forms.

Short Form

The short form can be a letter, a digit, a hyphen or an underscore. It defines the abbreviation.

Expansion

The expansion is what Instant Text should produce upon expanding the entry. It can contain:

• text
• keys and key combinations
• commands

Display Form

When defined, the display form is the text displayed in the Expansion column of the following tables:

• The Word or Phrase Expansion Table depending on your Display Options.
• Glossary Viewer Entry Table

When no display form is defined, the expansion is displayed instead.

The Singles Glossary Shell

The Singles Glossary Shell is the Singles Glossary that contains all active singles: in order for a Singles Glossary to be active, it needs to be included in the Singles Glossary Shell.

The Singles Glossary Shell has a fixed location and a reserved name: Glossary\#Singles.xglo

Viewing the Singles Glossary Shell

You can view and edit the Singles Glossary Shell in the Glossary Viewer using the View Singles Glossary menu item in the Glossary Menu.
