Automatic Docking is the feature that consists in automatically positioning Instant Text aligned to a side of a Client Application when it becomes the Current Client Application.
It can be configured with the following alignments, on a per-application basis, in the Client Configurator:
Bottom | ![]() |
---|---|
Bottom Left | ![]() |
Bottom Middle | ![]() |
Bottom Right | ![]() |
Top | ![]() |
---|---|
Top Left | ![]() |
Top Middle | ![]() |
Top Right | ![]() |
Left Top | ![]() |
---|---|
Left Middle | ![]() |
Left Bottom | ![]() |
Right Top | ![]() |
---|---|
Right Middle | ![]() |
Right Bottom | ![]() |
Note that inside a Client Application, you may still toggle the docking off for some windows that you don't want Instant Text to follow. For example, in Notepad you definitely want to dock to the main window, but not to the File Open or File Save As dialogs.
