Wp5.1 on WinXP Problems

I am using WP5.1 on WinXP. I have an inbuilt AGP with VIA chipset. The problem is when i try to play the voice file with use of a footpeal software, the audio delays for sometime on pause and play mode when WP is active. If I close WP, the audio plays fine. However, there is no problem when I use it on WIN9x.

Kindly someone help me out.
