Instant Text V was the version released in 2002.
Then in 2010 Instant Text 7 came out.
Now, in 2021, we just released the finalized versions of
Instant Text 8 and 9.
I explained the differences and reasons for these 2 new versions in the announcement posts on the Instant Text 7 Forum.
As for the Importer and the Glossary Workshop functions, they have been integrated into IT 8 and 9. Everything you want to do with your glossaries is now done in the Glossary Viewer.
To import files and convert them into IT 8 or 9 glossaries you go to File->Import. To apply your own short form rules you go to Options->Short Form Rules...
There is no need to condense glossaries anymore. When you merge glossaries, duplicates are eliminated right away.
When you combine glossaries with Includes, the individual glossaries may have identical entries which will show in the Glossary Viewer, but not in the expansion table(s). So there should be no need to eliminate them as these glossaries could be part of different combinations.
