Ctrl+Bksp to delete previous entered entire word

Hi again! You know I absolutely adore IT9 (as I have all other iterations of IT) and I have been using it daily in my work.

I have added a new program to my repertoire. It is imperative that I am able to add (and delete!) text quickly as I am making annotations of a live session. I am wondering if it's possible for me to program IT to behave like Microsoft Office (and in other places, like as this forum) such that (Ctrl) + (Bskp) would delete the entire previously typed word in any document/program. Is this even possible with IT?

I know it's a long shot but a question unasked is a question always unanswered. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.
