how to keep a phrase as all lowercase even after a period

trying to insert the phrase e-scribed in all lowercase even after a period. Tried on my own to do it and used a command text lowercase selection but though it stayed in lowercase it changed the typeset to something smaller and bolded. Cannot figure out how to fix this. Thank you.
